The condition of double vision is mainly a sign of diplopia. There are two causes of this condition: the first is a strabismus, especially a large strabismus, which can cause double vision. The second, mainly due to motoneural palsy, usually results in restricted eye movement, which is why double vision occurs. In this case, it is necessary to go to the hospital for a detailed examination to clarify the specific cause. If it is caused by ophthalmic nerve palsy, it is usually necessary to improve the cranial magnetic resonance examination at an early stage to exclude any intracranial lesions and to give symptomatic treatment with nerve nutrition. If the symptoms do not improve after more than six months of conservative treatment, surgery can be considered.
