Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae is effective in regulating qi, strengthening the spleen, drying dampness and expelling phlegm. It is used as a main treatment for poor appetite, vomiting, epigastric (stomach and abdomen) distension and fullness, chest fullness (chest distension and discomfort) phlegm and other diseases.
Chenpi is the dried mature fruit peel of Citrus sinensis and its cultivated varieties in the family of Rutaceae, with pungent and bitter flavor, warm nature; it belongs to the spleen and lung meridian. It has the effects of dredging qi, strengthening the spleen, dispelling dampness, drying dampness and resolving phlegm (dispelling dampness and resolving phlegm by drying dampness). Clinically, it is mainly used for the treatment of gastric qi stagnation syndrome, nausea and vomiting, stomach distension and fullness, chest fullness and phlegm and other conditions with therapeutic effects.
The adverse reactions of Chen Pi are not clear. It is forbidden to use with furazolidone, calcium carbonate, aluminum hydroxide.
