If the heel fracture has been treated with plate internal fixation, the plate screw internal fixation can be removed if the fracture has healed completely. After the plate screw fixation is removed, it is usually necessary to protect the bone with crutches for about 1 month to avoid premature blind weight-bearing walking, otherwise it may lead to local fracture collapse again. Because of the support of the plate in the early stage, the bone needs a shaping process after the plate is removed. After the plate is removed from the heel bone, the local wound needs to be kept dry and hygienic, and the wound healing ability is slower than other parts of the body, so close observation is needed. If the wound has obvious redness, swelling or oozing, go to the hospital in time. More than two weeks after the surgery, if the healing is good, you can consider removing the stitches for treatment.
