Signs of poor intelligence in 5 year olds

The manifestations of mental retardation in 5-year-old children are usually reflected in the fact that their physical development, motor development, language development and intellectual development are all lower than those of children of the same age.
1. Physical development: Since children with mental retardation often have feeding difficulties and poor motor skills, it may lead to short stature and thinness.
2. Motor development: sports delays are often uncoordinated, such as inflexible limb coordination, unsteady walking, lack of limb strength, and reduced muscle tone.
3. Language development: 5-year-old children still can’t say rhymes, can’t sing, and their ability to express themselves verbally or to understand is significantly lower than the normal developmental level of children of the same age. In addition, there may be hyperactivity and inattention.
4. Intellectual development: In terms of intellectual development, the child’s face is often expressionless or sometimes involuntarily giggles, has a poor memory, needs countless repetitions of exercises to learn something, recognizes problems in a simpler way, and lacks the ability to think in an abstract way, imagination, etc. If a 5-year-old child shows the above signs, he or she may still not be able to say rhymes or sing songs.
If a 5-year-old child shows any of these signs, it is recommended that he or she go to the hospital in time for early and regular treatment.
