The optimal age for surgery for polydactyly, syndactyly, or bunions is small. Polydactyly can be operated on at 3-6 months of age as long as the baby is healthy and weighs 6kg or more, syndactyly can usually be split at around 6 months of age, and floating bunions can be operated on between 6 months and 1 year of age. Moms and dads are undoubtedly nervous when their baby has to undergo surgery. Some moms and dads may ask if they can accompany their baby into the operating room. Moms and dads can accompany their babies to the door of the operating room, but it is really difficult to get inside the operating room. Why? Firstly, the operating room is not infinite and there are space constraints; secondly, the working positions in the operating room are relatively fixed, and our trained staff know exactly where they stand, but if a mom or dad who doesn’t know much about the situation comes in, there will be problems. We understand the feelings of mothers and fathers very well, but mothers and fathers can’t comfort their babies after entering the operating room, and it doesn’t help the surgery much, so it’s very difficult for parents to go inside the operating room.
