How long does it take for a grade II astroglioma to recur?

Astroglioma grade II is a kind of moderately malignant glioma, and there is no fixed time for recurrence after surgery. If the tumor is not completely removed during the surgery, the recurrence will be early, usually within 1-2 years. If the resection is complete, including the normal brain tissue around the tumor and the peritumor tissue, the recurrence time after surgery will be longer, and it is possible to recur after 5-10 years. After the recurrence, craniotomy can be performed again. The surgery should follow the principle of removing the tumor to the maximum extent to ensure the brain function. However, because glioma is a malignant tumor, it has no obvious boundary, so there is no way to completely remove the tumor after surgery, and it will definitely recur after surgery. Patients should avoid foods containing carcinogenic factors after surgery, such as pickled products, moldy foods, barbecued and smoked foods, etc. Also avoid using certain food additive, pesticide contaminated crops, etc.
