Is interstitial pneumonitis due to radiotherapy curable?

Radiotherapy-induced mild interstitial pneumonia can be cured, moderate and severe is not good. Radiation interstitial pneumonia is a common complication after radiotherapy for chest tumor, head and neck tumor in clinic. Due to different radiation dose, radiation site and range of radiation, there is a difference in the severity of interstitial pneumonia caused by lung injury, and the mild one can be cured by giving hormone and other treatments. At present, the clinical treatment of interstitial pneumonia caused by radiotherapy is mainly anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrosis and symptomatic treatment, commonly used corticosteroids such as methylprednisolone anti-inflammatory treatment, giving oxygen, asthma and other symptomatic treatment. Mild can be cured, moderate and severe interstitial pneumonia is not very good cure. Radiotherapy-induced interstitial pneumonia should be standardized under the guidance of oncologists, and should not be self-medicated.
