Can high androgens cause hair loss?

Excessive androgens may cause hair loss.
1. Androgens are endocrine hormones synthesized by the gonads (testes) and adrenal cortex. In addition, the ovaries can also synthesize trace amounts of androgens. Androgens promote the growth of male organs and regulate metabolism.
2. If the androgens in the body are too high, they may be converted into dihydrotestosterone by type 2 5α-reductase. Dihydrotestosterone will lead to miniaturization of hair follicles, causing hairs in the anagen phase to gradually become finer and thinner, which may eventually lead to shrinkage and disappearance of hair follicles and hair loss.
If the androgen in your body is too high, you should go to a regular hospital for an interview, do the relevant examination, and choose the appropriate way to deal with it under the guidance of the doctor.
