Low red blood cell levels may be associated with splenomegaly, but low red blood cell levels are not the direct cause of splenomegaly.
Currently, the main causes of splenomegaly include infectious and non-infectious factors.
1. Infectious factors include viral infections, rickettsial infections, bacterial infections, parasitic diseases and so on.
2. Non-infectious factors such as liver cirrhosis, portal hypertension, heart failure, large amount of pericardial effusion; hematological diseases such as various acute and chronic leukemia, hemolytic anemia, true erythrocytosis, multiple myeloma, hypersplenism and so on; connective tissue diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis and so on; splenic tumors, splenic cysts and other diseases.
Among these diseases, such as hemolytic anemia, hypersplenism and other diseases may cause a decrease in red blood cell content, but it does not mean that low red blood cell content is the direct cause of splenomegaly.
It is recommended to seek timely medical treatment when necessary, and receive standardized diagnosis and treatment under the guidance of physicians.
