What’s wrong with a hard stomach during pregnancy

A hard stomach during pregnancy may be caused by improper diet, fetal movement, or false contractions, preterm labor, etc. You should consult a doctor in time to find out the cause.
1. Improper diet: If pregnant women eat cold, stimulating food can cause indigestion, which leads to abdominal distension, there will be a hard stomach, which can be accompanied by early satiety, anorexia, regurgitation and other symptoms.
2. Fetal movement: most primigravid women can feel fetal movement in the 18th to 20th week of pregnancy. A hard stomach during pregnancy may be caused by the fetus doing various movements in the uterus, such as stretching and limb movements. If the fetal movement is regular and rhythmic, and the number of fetal movements is within the normal range, it means that the development of the fetus is normal.
3. False contractions: If the pregnant woman maintains a position for a long time, or lifting heavy objects leads to an increase in abdominal pressure and uterine congestion, thus causing contractions, there can be a burst of abdominal contractions, hardening of the sensation, usually short-lasting, with a long intermittent time and irregular. Usually they can be relieved after rest, but if they are accompanied by strong abdominal pain, you should consult a doctor promptly.
4. Prolonged labor: before labor in late pregnancy, the phenomenon of a hard stomach will also occur, and with the shortening of the interval, abdominal pain, a sense of descent of the fetus, and a small amount of bloody vaginal discharge, and so on.
In addition, the hardness of the pregnant woman’s stomach may also be caused by conditions such as preeclampsia and placental abruption. If accompanied by other symptoms, you should consult a doctor in a timely manner to find out the cause and, if necessary, carry out the appropriate treatment.
