What is diffusion dysfunction

In clinical practice diffusion dysfunction refers to the presence of obstructive ventilation dysfunction in the human airway, as well as restrictive ventilation dysfunction, which can be used to evaluate the efficiency of gas exchange by the alveolar capillary membrane. Pulmonary function test results showing reduced carbon monoxide diffusion are indicative of diffusion dysfunction. Emphysema and diffuse pulmonary fibrosis can cause reduced diffusion function, and the most serious form of diffusion dysfunction is hypoxia, and oxygen inhalation can be given if hypoxia is present in the treatment. Patients with emphysema can use aminophylline drugs to dilate the airways. It is recommended to go to the hospital for a comprehensive examination to find out the cause and treat the original disease.
