Whether there is any hope of recovery after surgery for bile duct cancer should be decided in the light of the stage of bile duct cancer and the specific conditions of patients. 1. Intermediate cholangiocarcinoma: if it is intermediate cholangiocarcinoma, the hope of recovery is very high after aggressive surgical resection. 2. Low-grade bile duct cancer: if low-grade bile duct cancer is treated with pancreaticoduodenectomy, the hope of cure is also very high. 3. High-grade cholangiocarcinoma: In case of high-grade cholangiocarcinoma, the hope of cure is relatively low. Among them, type III high-grade bile duct cancer can be cured through radical treatment, while type IV high-grade bile duct cancer can only be cured through liver transplantation, and if lymph node metastasis occurs, there is basically no hope for cure. It should be noted that after diagnosis of cholangiocarcinoma, the quality of life can be improved through active treatment, and the life can be prolonged after the symptoms are relieved.
