For those who have been clearly diagnosed with hypertension, low pressure 100 mmHg high pressure 150 mmHg, commonly used drugs are calcium channel blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, diuretics, and beta receptor blockers. According to China’s guidelines for the prevention and treatment of hypertension issued in 2020, hypertension can be diagnosed by measuring systolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 90 mmHg more than three times on non-simultaneous days. For people who have been clearly diagnosed with hypertension, a low pressure of 100mmHg and a high pressure of 150mmHg require medication to control their blood pressure, and commonly used medications include the following five categories: 1. Calcium channel blocker: the representative drug is amlodipine. Applicable to the elderly hypertension, simple systolic hypertension, with stable angina, coronary or carotid atherosclerosis and peripheral vascular disease patients. 2. Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor: the representative drug is captopril. It is suitable for elderly hypertensive patients with diabetic nephropathy, metabolic syndrome, proteinuria or microalbuminuria. 3. Angiotensin receptor blocker: representative drug valsartan. Suitable for patients with left ventricular hypertrophy, heart failure, diabetic nephropathy, proteinuria. 4. Diuretics: representative drug hydrochlorothiazide. Suitable for patients with elderly hypertension, refractory hypertension, heart failure combined with hypertension and salt-sensitive hypertension. 5. Selective β1 receptor blocker: representative drug Metoprolol. It can lower the blood pressure and slow down the heart rate, and can be used preferentially for hypertension with mainly high diastolic blood pressure (low pressure).
