Rattling sound with pain when lifting the shoulder may be caused by the following reasons: 1. It may be caused by acromioclavicular impingement syndrome, which is due to the patient’s congenital genetic factors, or excessive osteophytes in this part of the body after birth, which leads to narrowing of the gap between the acromion and the greater tuberosity, and when the patient lifts up the shoulder, the tendons in this part of the body are squeezed by the acromion and the greater tuberosity, which leads to abnormal sound and pain. 2. It may be caused by tendon lesions inside the shoulder joint, such as scarring, adhesion or even calcification of the tendon in the rotator cuff due to injury or inflammation, which may lead to the above mentioned symptoms due to abnormal squeezing activities when lifting the shoulder joint. 3. It may be caused by aseptic inflammation of the shoulder joint, such as frozen shoulder, or periarthritis inside the shoulder joint, which may lead to the above mentioned symptoms. Frozen shoulder, rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory diseases may lead to similar symptoms. 4. It may also be caused by some old injuries, such as old shoulder fractures and dislocations in the past, and similar symptoms may remain after the patient recovers from these injuries.
