Is a cardiac stent the same as a cerebrovascular stent

Cardiac stents and cerebrovascular stents serve similar purposes, but there are some differences in the structure of the stents.
Cardiac stents and cerebrovascular stents have similar main uses, mainly due to the treatment of severe arterial stenosis, which can improve the blood flow status of stenotic blood vessels and increase the blood flow of diseased blood vessels, thus improving the patient’s symptoms.
Although both can be used for the treatment of arterial stenosis, cardiac stents and cerebral vascular stents are structurally different. Cardiac stents are mainly released by balloon expansion, and cerebral vascular stents are divided into two types, one is expanded by stenting, and the other is self-expanding.
Since there are obvious differences in the anatomical structure and morphology of cardiac and cerebral blood vessels, there are also certain differences in the structure and expansion methods of stents.
When treating coronary artery disease and cerebral stenosis clinically, the appropriate stent treatment should be selected under the guidance of physicians.
