How to tell if your baby has anal stenosis

There are three ways to determine anal stenosis in babies: observation of the baby’s bowel movements, physical examination, and history taking.
1. Observe the baby’s stool: babies with anal stenosis usually have long-term constipation, thin stools, dry stools with blood, frequent urge to defecate but difficult to defecate, as well as anal fissure and mixed hemorrhoids and other diseases, the baby is very likely to be anal stenosis.
2. Physical examination: you can take your baby to the hospital for anal finger test, if the anal sphincter muscle is tense, often feel constricted, the finger can not go deeper, and for anal contraction or lifting the anus movement, finger tightness is obvious, the baby is likely to be anal stenosis.
3. Ask the medical history: baby if there is a history of perianal surgery, such as perianal abscess surgery, anal polypectomy, mixed hemorrhoids external peeling and internal ligation, etc., the baby is very likely to have anal stenosis after surgery.
Babies with anal stenosis should seek timely medical attention, go to a regular hospital for examination, do not self-diagnosis and treatment, so as not to cause more serious consequences.
