Major treatments for early stage endometrial cancer

Endometrial cancer is a gynecological disease caused by malignant lesions in the endometrium. Since it is a malignant tumor, the earlier it is detected, the better the treatment effect. In the early stage of endometrial cancer, the main treatment means are through surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and herbal treatment. Endometrial cancer is a serious threat to women’s life, and its treatment in the early stage is mainly surgical treatment. Radiotherapy alone is only used for advanced endometrial cancer patients who have contraindications to surgery. Surgical treatment is based on extensive hysterectomy and pelvic lymph node dissection, which includes the entire uterus, bilateral adnexa, upper vagina and paravagina, as well as the lymph nodes in the pelvis. After surgery, some patients need further radiotherapy or chemotherapy to control the recurrence or metastasis of cancer cells. The best time to treat endometrial cancer is within the first 5 years after detection, but the later the treatment, the more difficult and less effective it is, and the mortality rate is higher. Patients who require preservation of reproductive function in the very early stage can be treated with progestin. However, treatment needs to be under strict monitoring by doctors. For the treatment of early stage endometrial cancer, besides the treatment means, patients’ own psychological state is also very important to maintain an optimistic state of mind and not to be depressed.
