Do any of the ground-glass lung nodules last a lifetime?

There are lung ground glass nodules that are fine for life, and there are also those that develop malignancy or are themselves early stage tumors. A pulmonary ground-glass nodule is an imaging modality on a thin-section CT, and by itself is not indicative of the disease itself or predictive of the course of the disease. 1. Most of the lung ground-glass nodules are caused by benign diseases, such as localized non-specific inflammation, in which the lung ground-glass nodules may persist for a long time, or gradually be absorbed and disappear, in which case the possibility of malignant changes is relatively small. 2. Some lung ground-glass nodules may develop malignant changes, such as atypical adenomatous hyperplasia, which may lead to malignant changes and develop into typical lung adenocarcinoma. 3. Some ground-glass nodules themselves are a manifestation of early lung cancer, such as early lung adenocarcinoma which may be manifested as ground-glass nodules in the lung. In this case, to determine the nature of the nodule, it is not possible to rely on imaging alone, and pathologic biopsy may be needed to confirm the diagnosis. Therefore, the presence of ground-glass nodules in the lungs should not be easily ignored, and professional consultation and treatment should be sought.
