Anterior pelvic tilt is a pathological phenomenon in which the pelvis is shifted. The normal pelvic position is also tilted forward at a certain angle, but if the angle is too large, it is anterior pelvic tilt, which is mostly seen in patients with congenital hip dislocation, and often the patient walks in a duck step. Usually because the head of the femur is not in the normal position of the acetabulum, the pelvis needs to compensate for the anterior tilt to increase the coverage of the head of the femur, so there may be a duck step, swaying from side to side, and at the same time, because of the compensatory effect of the human body walking upright, the lumbar vertebrae will be anteriorly protruding. There are also women who are pregnant, because the weight of the fetus in the abdomen will make the center of gravity of the pregnant woman’s abdomen shift forward, in order to maintain stability, the pregnant woman will have a certain degree of anterior pelvic tilt, but after giving birth to a child, basically can return to normal. Each person’s situation is slightly different, so the shape of the pelvis is different from person to person, anterior tilt we have to distinguish between pathological or physiological, but the normal pelvic shape is a certain angle of anterior tilt.
