What’s wrong with babies who spit up and burp

Spitting up and hiccups in infants may be related to incorrect feeding style, overfeeding, acute enteritis, gastroesophageal reflux, and so on.
1. Incorrect feeding: Infants who are fed too quickly or too rapidly, as well as in an incorrect feeding position, can cause them to swallow too much gas. Infants’ gastrointestinal system is not perfect, and spitting up and hiccups will occur when they are irritated.
2. Overfeeding: Infants’ gastrointestinal system is not well developed and their gastrointestinal regulation is poor. When infants eat too much, it will easily lead to indigestion, spitting up and hiccups.
3. Acute enteritis: It may be that the abdomen is not covered by cold when sleeping, or the tableware is contaminated, causing acute enteritis. The baby will burp or spit up, and may be accompanied by diarrhea.
4. Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD): the pathologic cause may be an abnormality of the infant’s esophageal sphincter, which leads to vomiting and hiccups in infants.
Infant vomiting and hiccups can also be seen in other causes, it is recommended to consult a doctor in a timely manner, follow the doctor’s instructions to carry out relevant examinations, with the help of the doctor to identify the causes, and targeted treatment or therapy.
