Cysts in the adnexal area are usually physiologic cysts, and physiologic cysts that grow to about 5cm are not considered serious. If the patient does not have any clinical symptoms and the cyst in the adnexal area is found to be around 5cm in the first examination, no treatment can be done and ultrasound review can be done after 1-3 menstrual cycles. If the cyst becomes smaller or disappears, it is physiologic. If the cyst continues to grow or persists for more than 3 months, it should be taken seriously. Patients need further examination, and the main items to be examined include tumor markers, pelvic CT, etc., to determine whether there is any possibility of malignant transformation of the pelvic mass. If this kind of mass persists, even if the examination does not suggest the possibility of malignant changes, the patient needs to do laparoscopy for exploration, and it is best to excise and send for pathologic examination.
