Can pentavalent rotavirus and 13-valent pneumonia be given together?

Pentavalent Rotavirus and 13-valent Pneumonia vaccines are not recommended to be given together.

Some patients with poor physical function may have adverse reactions after vaccination, and the adverse reactions may be aggravated if they are vaccinated at the same time, so it is better to stagger the vaccination for a certain period of time.

Pentavalent rotavirus vaccine can effectively prevent rotavirus enteritis, reduce morbidity and mortality, alleviate the symptoms of infection and shorten the duration of illness. Rotavirus vaccine is safe and most children will not have any reaction after taking it, but a small number of children will have mild adverse reactions such as vomiting, diarrhea and fever, which can basically be relieved on their own.

The 13-valent pneumonia vaccine is used for active immunization of infants and children to prevent invasive diseases caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae such as bacteremic pneumonia, meningitis, sepsis and bacteremia. Adverse reactions include fever, low appetite, poor sleep, redness and swelling at the vaccination site, etc., but most of them are transient reactions and will improve on their own.

Because both vaccines may produce certain adverse reactions, although they are not serious, it is best to take some time between vaccinations to prevent aggravating the adverse reactions.
