Metronidazole, divided into metronidazole injection and oral metronidazole tablets, is an antibiotic with anti-anaerobic bacterial infections and anti-trichomonas effects. In the case of deep pelvic organ infections, intravenous medication is usually used. For mild pelvic infections or simple inflammation of the vagina, oral metronidazole is usually used. The dosage of metronidazole for adults is 200mg per dose, 2-3 times a day for 7 days. It can also be given as a single dose of 2 g. However, the digestive tract is more reactive, so it is usually given orally in divided doses.
