How long does it take to get mycoplasma test results

Mycoplasma tests have different times for results to be displayed depending on the hospital and the test method. There are several types of mycoplasma, including Mycoplasma pneumoniae, which causes pneumonia, and Mycoplasma humanum, Mycoplasma solium and Mycoplasma genitalium, which cause genitourinary infections. Different types of mycoplasma are tested in different ways, and the time for results varies. For example, mycoplasma pneumoniae can be detected by antigen detection, PCR method and microscopic microscopy on the same day, while liquid culture of mycoplasma pneumoniae takes 20-48 hours; while solid culture detection takes more than 21 days to produce results. In addition, the time for results varies from hospital to hospital, and some hospitals may take longer to produce results due to testing technology. In addition, patients should also be aware of the need to avoid contamination when retaining mycoplasma secretions, as this can lead to inaccurate results.
