Can I eat if I have an EKG?

For an EKG, fasting is not usually required. It can be done with or without food and does not affect the test. There are no special dietary requirements for ECG exams, just don’t be overly hungry or full. Patients should try to wear loose clothing when they come to the hospital for ECG examination. Female patients should not wear dresses as much as possible because ECG examination requires exposure of the forehead, so wearing a dress will be inconvenient. Some men with heavy chest hair should remove their chest hair before coming to the EKG, so that the electrodes and the skin are in close contact, and the graphs are less disturbed, and the graphs are standardized to facilitate analysis.
