Migraine is a type of vascular headache, and any headache that causes a change in the contractile function of the cranial blood vessels is called a vascular headache. The latter can be divided into two categories: primary and secondary. Primary vascular headache is also known as migraine. Secondary headaches are mostly bilateral, usually caused by hypertension, fever, overdose of various substances or poisoning (ethanol, CO, nitrite, etc.), and rarely unilateral headaches, which can be caused by cerebral aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation, etc. Primary vascular headache, or migraine, is an ancient disorder that has been described as early as 3000 years ago and was named migraine by Hippocrates 2500 years ago and is still used today. Reports on the prevalence and incidence of migraine vary widely from country to country. The prevalence rate in China is generally 4.6‰. It is generally believed that the occurrence of migraine is not significantly related to occupation, education level, intelligence, social class, ethnicity and race, but the survey data in China in 1991 showed that the prevalence rate of brain workers is higher than that of manual workers, and the prevalence rate of technicians is higher than that of other occupations. With the gradual acceleration of the pace of life and work in modern society, the number of migraine headaches caused by excessive stress is gradually increasing, and at the beginning of the headache, people generally prefer painkillers, and now there is a wide range of painkillers on the market, and there are many Chinese and Western medicines, which just work, but when they do not work for a few times, they change one. The effect is getting worse and worse, and in the end, eating any medicine does not work, the headache is unbearable and seriously affects life and work, and only then do you want to go to acupuncture, which often takes a longer time to work. In fact, if you get acupuncture earlier, the symptoms will disappear soon. Compared to drugs, acupuncture has many advantages, the effect is fast and long-lasting, and no side effects, avoiding various pain medications more or less damage to the nerves, purely green therapy. The author has been engaged in acupuncture for many years, and has cured many headache patients with acupuncture and moxibustion, and is deeply concerned about the misconceptions of many migraine patients, especially for primary and secondary school students, as the damage to nerves caused by pain medication also affects their learning, which is especially painful. Therefore, we remind all migraine patients to benefit from acupuncture sooner.
