Effects of benzbromarone tablets

Benzbromarone is a potent uric acid-lowering drug, the main action of which is to promote the excretion of uric acid. The main target of action is the renal tubules, which can lower the blood uric acid level by inhibiting the reabsorption of uric acid in the renal tubules. Adults should take 50mg of Benzbromarone once a day after breakfast, or in the early stages of treatment, up to 2 tablets a day, also after breakfast. After the blood uric acid level is normalized, the maintenance treatment is then reduced to 1 tablet per day. The main adverse reactions of benzbromarone are diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort and other gastrointestinal symptoms in some patients. Some patients may experience abnormal liver function and skin irritation. Contraindications to the use of benzbromarone include not recommended for pregnant women or those who are planning to become pregnant. It is also contraindicated in women who are breastfeeding and is not recommended for use in children. It is also contraindicated in patients with urinary stones and in patients with severe or moderate renal abnormalities during treatment. During the treatment of benzbromarone, the urine should be alkalinized according to the urine pH, and sodium bicarbonate should be administered appropriately; patients should be advised to drink more water to achieve a daily urine output of more than 2000mL; liver and kidney functions should be monitored regularly.
