Tendinitis of the thumb can be relieved by general treatment, medication and surgery. 1. General treatment: Rest and localized braking should be paid attention to, and if necessary, braking can be assisted by braces, avoiding activities that will cause pain. 2. Drug treatment: Oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, meloxicam, celecoxib, etc., to relieve pain. Intrathecal corticosteroid injection can also be given to relieve the symptoms. 3. Surgery: If the symptoms are not relieved or recur after conservative treatment, surgery should be performed to loosen them. Surgery is usually performed under anesthesia to cut through the thickened portion of the tendon sheath longitudinally and excise it, so that the tendon impingement can be lifted, and whether the narrow tendon sheath has been completely loosened can be ascertained by passive flexion and extension of the fingers. All of the above medications should be used under a doctor’s supervision, and self-medication should be avoided.
