Can congenital cerebral palsy be cured?

Can a person born with cerebral palsy be cured? Cerebral palsy refers to a syndrome of postural and motor dysfunction caused by a non-progressive brain injury during the immature stage of brain development in the first month of life. There are reasons for the birth of a child with cerebral palsy before and after birth, such as parents’ bad behavior, smoking, alcoholism, drug abuse, vaginal bleeding, placenta praevia, pre-eclampsia or birth control drugs during pregnancy, etc. In addition, premature birth, overdue birth, history of miscarriage, twin or multiple births are all causes of cerebral palsy in children. Therefore this also requires parents to be cautious and careful before and after the pregnancy and to take adequate protection. So can cerebral palsy be treated? Many people think that cerebral palsy can’t be cured and fully recovered from birth. At present, many children with cerebral palsy have achieved significant improvement after surgical treatment. The existing hospitals mainly carry out peripheral nerve narrowing, selective posterior spinal nerve root dissection, and carotid sympathetic nerve net stripping to treat cerebral palsy, and have achieved obvious results. Because of the results of these surgeries, parents can always be seen in the ward crying with joy when they see their children taking steps on their own. Among these surgeries, peripheral nerve narrowing with myoelectric monitoring technology can precisely regulate muscle tone with minimal surgical trauma and basically no postoperative complications; selective posterior spinal nerve root dissection is more effective in relieving muscle spasticity in the limbs; and carotid sympathetic nerve net stripping can better treat children with tardive dyskinesia and improve symptoms such as salivation, speech impairment and strabismus.
