Tea does not kill neocoronaviruses, and it is not clear whether it can have an antiviral effect in the context of daily tea consumption. Some studies have shown that tea (mainly green and black tea) contains components such as tea polyphenols and theaflavins that have some anti-neocoronavirus activity and can kill neocoronaviruses at the cellular level in vitro. In addition, it has been suggested that tea, as an important source of nutritional immunity, can enhance the innate immune response to a certain extent, thereby alleviating the symptoms caused by neocoronavirus infection. However, most of the current research on tea stays at the in vitro cellular level, and even if it is used for clinical purposes, it is mostly tea extracts that are used, which are somewhat different from the tea we drink on a daily basis. Therefore, it is not clear whether tea can kill the new coronavirus in daily tea drinking. If necessary, it is recommended to cooperate with the epidemic prevention work for new crown treatment, so as not to delay the disease.
