Remedies for chronic atrophic gastritis

Chronic atrophic gastritis belongs to the category of “stomach pain” in Chinese medicine, and the Chinese herbal prescriptions commonly used in the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis include Chai Hu Shuo Hepatitis Powder and Xiang Sha Liu Jun Pill, etc. Please follow the doctor’s instructions on the use of specific medications.
1. Chai Hu Shu Hepatosan: It has the efficacy of dispersing the liver and regulating qi, activating blood circulation and relieving pain. It is mainly used for treating liver qi stagnation. Symptoms include pain in the ribs and wounds, tightness in the chest (frequent sighing), depression and irritability, belching (hiccups), and fullness in the epigastric region (stomach and abdomen). This formula is aromatic, pungent and dry, easy to consume qi and hurt yin, and should not be taken for a long time.
2. Xiangsha Liujun Pill: composed of wood sorrel, sand nuts, Codonopsis pilosulae, atractylodes macrocephala (fried), Poria, roasted licorice, tangerine peel, half-summers (made of ginger), and so on. It has the effect of benefiting qi, strengthening spleen and harmonizing stomach. It is used for dyspepsia caused by spleen deficiency and qi stagnation, belching with little food, epigastric distention and fullness, and loose stools. Not recommended for pregnant women.
