Contraindications of Fenghui Huangqi Soup

Fangji Huangqi Tang can be used to treat wind-water (sudden edema of the head, face and limbs) or rheumatism with deficiency of the surface, while its adverse effects and contraindications are not clear.
Fangji Huangqi Tang is composed of Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Radix Astragali, Radix Astragali and Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae, the original formula is from “The Essentials of the Golden Chamber”, which has the effect of inducing diuresis to fortify the spleen, benefiting the qi to dispel wind, and can be used for treating wind-water (sudden edema of head, face and extremities) or wind-dampness of deficiency of the surface.
In this formula, Astragalus consolidates the surface and induces diuresis to benefit the qi, and Fangji wins dampness and relieves pain (removes pain caused by excessive dampness) to dispel wind, and the two herbs are the monarch; Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae replenishes qi to dispel dampness and strengthens the spleen; Glycyrrhiza glabra harmonizes all herbs (harmonizing the medicinal properties of different Chinese medicines), and benefits qi and zhong (replenishes qi and regulates the spleen and the stomach).
