Insufficient spleen qi can be regulated by taking the Chinese patent medicine Si Jun Zi Wan, Xiang Sha Liu Jun Wan and Zhong Yi Qi Wan. 1. Four Gentlemen Pill: It is composed of Radix Codonopsis, Atractylodes Macrocephalae, Poria, and Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae. It has the effect of benefiting qi and strengthening the spleen (regulating the qi of the spleen and stomach). It is used for poor appetite and loose stools (thin and unformed feces) caused by deficiency of spleen and stomach qi. 2. Xiangsha Liu Jun Wan: It is effective in benefiting Qi, strengthening the spleen and harmonizing the stomach. It is used for dyspepsia caused by deficiency of spleen and Qi stagnation, belching (hiccup) with little food, distention and fullness in the epigastrium (abdomen), and loose stools. Pregnant women should not take. 3. Tonifying the middle and benefiting the qi pill: used for diarrhea, prolapse of anus, yin ting (women’s uterine prolapse or even out of the vaginal opening) caused by weakness of the spleen and stomach and the sinking of the middle and lowering of the qi (deficiency of the spleen and stomach qi, the appearance of the internal organs falling down and other manifestations), the symptoms of tiredness, fatigue, low food and abdominal bloating, loose stools and prolonged diarrhea, anus falling down or prolapse of the anus, prolapse of the uterus. The medication should be taken under the guidance of a Chinese medicine practitioner, and individuals should not take the medication on their own.
