The acupuncture point of Liver Yu should be stabbed obliquely by 0.5~0.8 inches. Liver Yu point is located on the foot solar bladder meridian, liver Yu point is the back of the liver Yu point, is located in the spinal region of the site, in the 9th thoracic vertebrae under the spinous process, the back of the center line next to the open 1.5 inches position. Because of its location deep for the lungs, liver point should not be stabbed straight, should be oblique stabbing 0.5 ~ 0.8 inches, in order to prevent stabbing the lungs, resulting in pneumothorax and so on. Liver Yu point can be used to treat liver and gallbladder diseases such as dystocia (pain in the area of coercion and ribs) and jaundice; it can also be used to treat eye diseases such as redness and swelling of the eyes, blurred vision, night blindness, and tears in the wind; as well as dizziness and epilepsy; and it also has a better efficacy in treating localized diseases such as pain in the back of the spine, coracoid arches, and torsion of the tendons.
