How long does it take to get completely well after having a stoma for a vestibular cyst?

Recovery after vestibular cystostomy usually takes 5 to 7 days, but there are individual differences.
Vestibular cysts are mainly formed when inflammation of the vulva or pubic area is not effectively treated in time and spreads to the vestibular gland, resulting in blockage of the gland ducts, which prevents the fluid in the vestibular gland from draining out normally, thus silting up and accumulating in the gland. Cysts are mostly unilateral and oval in shape. Occasionally, vestibular cysts are bilateral, but they are rare.
Vestibular cysts that are small and the patient has no discomfort or mild localized symptoms can be treated conservatively. If the cyst is large, the swelling and pain are severe, or if an abscess has developed, surgery is needed as soon as possible to incise and drain the cyst and to make a stoma. The pain is relieved naturally after surgical drainage. Recovery from the stoma takes about 1 week.
After surgery for vestibular cysts, try to rest in bed for 2-3 days, do not press on the affected side when lying in bed, and the drainage port is lower than the surgical incision, so as to facilitate smooth drainage. At the same time, pay attention to local cleanliness and hygiene. For more information, please consult your doctor.
