A white blood cell count value of about 3.2 x 10^9/L is not normal.
Normally, the normal value of white blood cell count is adult (3.5~9.5)×10^9/L, infant (15.0~20.0)×10^9/L, and child (5.0~12.0)×10^9/L. The value of white blood cell count is 3.2×10^9/L, which is on the low side, and so it is not normal.
The common causes of low white blood cells are drug-related and disease-related. Drug-related may be due to the use of antipyretics (ibuprofen) or sulfonamides. Disease-related conditions are common: certain rheumatic diseases, acute leukemia, aplastic anemia, etc.
It is recommended that patients with low white blood cell counts go to the hospital and follow the doctor’s instructions to avoid delays.
