How to deal with swollen feet due to renal insufficiency

Foot swelling is a common symptom in patients with renal insufficiency, which can be improved by general treatment, medication and dialysis treatment.
Renal insufficiency is a clinical syndrome in which renal function is impaired by various reasons and glomerular filtration rate decreases, resulting in edema, electrolyte disorders, metabolic acidosis and symptoms of various systems. Among them, edema can be manifested as swollen feet, swollen eyelids or even swelling around the body.
1. General treatment: control water intake, keep the amount of water out for the amount of water in, and limit salt to avoid sodium retention.
2. Medication, diuretics such as furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide can be used to reduce swelling and diuresis. When used in large doses for a long period of time, water and electrolyte disorders, such as hypokalemia and hyponatremia, low blood pressure and cardiac arrhythmia, etc., are likely to occur.
3. Dialysis treatment, applicable to patients with high blood creatinine, low urine output and obvious edema, even heart failure, there are hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
Patients with swollen feet due to renal insufficiency are advised to go to the nephrology department of regular hospitals for treatment under doctor’s guidance. The above medication should be used in accordance with medical advice.
