What should I do if I can’t pass dry stools?

If you can’t pull out one grain of dry stool, it is considered as constipation, which may be caused by physiological reasons such as drinking too little water, or it may be caused by pathological reasons such as ulcerative colitis and intestinal tumors. It can be treated by adjusting diet such as drinking more water, strengthening exercise such as jogging, and choosing medicines such as salicylazosulfapyridine and cyclophosphamide.
1. Physiological reasons: too little diet, not timely replenishment of water after exercise and consumption of spicy and irritating foods such as chili peppers can cause dry stools and reduced intestinal peristalsis, thus causing constipation. You can improve the symptoms of constipation by strengthening the exercise to promote intestinal peristalsis. Dietary adjustments can also be made to drink more water and increase the content of dietary fiber to promote fecal excretion from the body. Lactulose, polyethylene glycol and other diarrhea-inducing drugs can also be used.
2. Pathologic causes:
(1) Ulcerative colitis: Infection, autoimmunity, heredity, environment and other factors can lead to ulcers in the colon, rectum and other parts of the body, causing diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, blood in stools and other symptoms, which can be relieved by medicines such as salicylazosulfapyridine, glucocorticoids and so on.
(2) Intestinal tumor: Tumor tissue can block the intestinal lumen, causing constipation, abdominal distension, bloody stools and other symptoms, surgery is preferred, and those who are inoperable can choose chemotherapy or targeted therapy according to the type of pathology.
If you can’t pull out one grain of dry stool, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time in order to make a clear diagnosis and carry out targeted treatment. In addition, all of the above drugs should be used under the guidance of a doctor and should not be used without authorization.
