Effects of Ivabradine

Ivabradine is a new heart rate lowering drug that is a selective and specific inhibitor of sinus node IF currents and is mainly used for heart rate control in patients with heart failure. Ivabradine is highly selective, with selective inhibition of the sinus node only, and no effect on intracardiac conduction, myocardial excitation contraction, or ventricular repolarization. The purely heart rate lowering effect of ivabradine and the concentration-dependent characteristics of ivabradine make ivabradine avoid the drug side effects such as respiratory spasm, dyspnea, bradycardia, decreased libido, etc. brought by beta-blockers while lowering heart rate, as well as the rebound phenomenon after stopping the drug. However, when using this product, if blurred vision, flash hallucinations, premature ventricular contractions occur, seek medical attention to avoid serious consequences of adverse reactions.
