There is no definite time for postoperative review of meningioma, generally it takes 1 month, and with the increase of the number of review, it can be gradually extended to 3 months or even 1 year, the specific time for review needs to be based on the actual condition of the individual.
1. Meningiomas are mostly benign tumors, if they keep growing, they need to be surgically removed. If the surgery goes well and the tumor is completely removed during the operation, it is usually recommended to review the cranial CT in the outpatient clinic in 1 month after discharge from the hospital, and if no abnormal signs are found in repeated reviews within half a year, it can be extended to 3 months for review as appropriate, and after 1 year, if everything is still normal, the patient can choose to review the tumor once a year.
2. If the patient’s meningioma is particularly large or has a malignant tendency and cannot be completely cut off by surgery, it is recommended that the period of 1-month postoperative review be extended to 12 months. Subsequently, it is recommended to review the tumor once every 3 months to half a year.
The specific time of postoperative review of meningioma should follow the opinion of the original surgeon.
