Pancreas Location

The pancreas is located in the upper mid-abdomen, to the left, and is anatomically positioned at the level of the lumbar vertebrae from the 1st to the 3rd lumbar vertebrae. The pancreas is elongated and can be divided into four parts: the head, neck, body, and tail, which are soft and gray in color and are involved in the digestive process of the human body.
The pancreas is an important digestive organ and can be divided into exocrine glands and endocrine glands, which are composed of alveoli and ducts. The pancreas secretes pancreatic juice, which contains sodium bicarbonate, lipase, insulin, and amylase. The pancreatic juice is discharged into the duodenum through the pancreatic duct, and it has a digestive effect on proteins, fats, and sugars.
If you experience pain in the pancreas area, you need to seek medical treatment.
