When scabies infects and parasitises the skin of the finger, it can cause itchy fingers that intensify at night, with papules and tunnels dug under the skin by the scabies in the area of origin. Some skin conditions such as eczema can also cause itchiness to increase at night, which can be severe enough to affect a person’s sleep.
