Commonly associated with scabies infections, scabies parasites on the skin of the fingers can cause a strange itch in the fingers, which increases at night, with papules and tunnels dug under the skin by the scabies worms visible at the onset. Some skin conditions, such as eczema, can also cause itchiness to increase at night, which can be severe enough to interfere with sleep.
