There are various diseases that cause itchy fingers and it is important to first identify the cause and follow medical advice on medication, not self-medication. Contact dermatitis should be treated by identifying and removing the allergen, taking oral desensitising and anti-itching medication, and applying topical creams depending on the extent of the lesion. Eczema can be treated with topical glucocorticoids and, if this is not effective, immunosuppressive drugs.
Tinea capitis is treated with topical antifungal medication and, in the case of bacterial infections, with a combination of antibiotics. Scabies infections can be treated with topical insecticidal anti-itch medication.
