The dangers of bronchoscopy in children

Children are often less cooperative when undergoing bronchoscopy. Common hazards during the examination include: 1. anesthesia risk: anesthesia accidents may occur during treatment, as well as occasional sequelae after anesthesia, etc.; 2. respiratory distress: because children do not cooperate during the examination, laryngeal edema may easily occur, causing respiratory distress; 3. hypoxemia: some children with high reactivity may develop severe bronchospasm, leading to severe hypoxemia and endangering the child’s life.
