The accomplice of coronary heart disease – diabetes

Coronary heart disease is the main cause of death in developed countries in the West, and with the improvement of our people’s living standards and changes in dietary habits, the disease has also become the main cause of death in China. In addition to dyslipidemia and hypertension, diabetes mellitus is also a major culprit of coronary heart disease, often with coronary heart disease “woeful”. The incidence of coronary heart disease in diabetic patients is as high as 45%-70%, and the mortality rate is also high. And, even if only abnormal glucose tolerance, the incidence of coronary heart disease in male patients compared with the normal population increased by 1 times, women increased by 2-3 times. Therefore, diabetes is the equivalent of coronary heart disease, coronary heart disease is the first cause of death in diabetic patients. So, why are diabetic patients prone to complications of coronary heart disease? 1, because of sugar metabolism disorders caused by lipid metabolism disorders, so diabetic patients are often accompanied by dyslipidemia, and dyslipidemia is the number one culprit of coronary heart disease. 2, high blood sugar, high plasma osmolality and other abnormal blood changes in diabetes will lead to coronary artery intima-media damage, for the formation of atherosclerotic plaques to provide favorable conditions, but also cause platelet aggregation, adhesion ability to enhance, so that the risk of acute coronary syndrome greatly increased. 3, diabetic patients often combined with a wide range of vascular disease, coronary artery is the most commonly affected arteries and atherosclerosis. 4, diabetic patients have a high incidence of hypertension. 5, diabetic patients are mostly obese. Therefore, the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease in diabetic patients is very great, we need to equate diabetes with coronary heart disease, in the control of blood glucose at the same time, but also need to actively control blood lipids, blood pressure.
