Jiaotai Pill is a traditional formula composed of Rhizoma Coptidis and Cinnamon. Jiaotai Pill has the effects of harmonizing the heart and kidneys (heart fire descends and kidney water rises to control each other), clearing the heart and calming the mind (settling the mind by getting rid of the inner heat). In the formula, Huang Lian, which is bitter and cold in nature, enters the heart meridian of Shaoyang, lowering the fire of the heart and preventing it from rising; and Cinnamon, which is pungent and hot in nature, enters the kidney meridian of Shaoyin, warming the kidneys, and the use of cold and heat, allowing the heart and kidneys to be in contact with each other. Jiaotai Pills can be used to treat the symptoms caused by heart-kidney disharmony (heart fire, kidney yin deficiency, dysfunction of the physiological functions of the heart and kidneys), which can be characterized by hyperactivity of the heart fire, palpitations (accelerated heartbeat, often accompanied by panic), palpitations (rapid heartbeat, panic), palpitation (heartbeat, panic), sleeplessness at night, and sores on the mouth and tongue. The adverse effects of Jiaotai Pill have not been clarified, and this formula is contraindicated for those who are allergic to the ingredients contained in this formula.
