Correction of the fetal position is done by chest and knee position, and in late stages the position can be externally rotated by manipulation. If the correction fails, monobuttocks can be evaluated by the doctor to be eligible for vaginal delivery, while mixed breech or foot prehension is performed by cesarean section.
Fetal malposition occurs during pregnancy and is mostly common in breech. If there is no umbilical cord around the neck, and the mother is not in discomfort, the fetal position can be corrected by knee-chest recumbency, and in the late stage, the fetal position can be externally rotated by manipulation. In the case of malpositioned fetus, the knee-chest position can be corrected by emptying the urine, loosening the trouser belt, kneeling on the bed, and keeping the chest and shoulders close to the bed surface.
If the correction fails, single breech can be evaluated by the doctor for vaginal delivery, while mixed breech or foot pre-disclosure can be delivered by cesarean section.
If you find that the fetus is not in the right position, don’t be nervous, relax yourself, do your checkups on time, and observe the fetus. For more information, please contact your doctor.
