What to do with high white blood cell and neutrophil percentages

There are many reasons for high percentage of leukocytes and neutrophils, physiological reasons include late pregnancy, childbirth, after strenuous exercise or labor, and pathological reasons include infection, extensive burns, acute myocardial infarction, diabetic ketoacidosis, leukemia, etc. According to the causes of the disease, anti-infective treatment, anti-shock rehydration therapy, coronary artery dilation therapy, rehydration and hypoglycemic therapy should be taken.
1. Physiological causes: high percentage of leukocytes and neutrophils may be caused by late pregnancy, childbirth, after strenuous exercise or labor, which can be left untreated.
2. Pathologic causes:
(1) Infections: such as infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus, hemolytic streptococcus, streptococcus, etc., which will cause high leukocyte and neutrophil percentages, and often require anti-infection treatment with appropriate antibiotics, such as levofloxacin, selected according to the results of drug sensitivity tests.
(2) Extensive burns: may cause high percentage of white blood cells and neutrophils, in which case anti-shock and rehydration therapy should be carried out.
(3) Acute myocardial infarction: Acute myocardial infarction can also lead to high leukocyte and neutrophil percentages, and treatment such as coronary dilatation and antithrombotic (urokinase) therapy is needed.
(4) Diabetic ketoacidosis: high leukocyte and neutrophil counts can also occur, requiring rehydration and hypoglycemic treatment (insulin).
(5) Leukemia: treatment varies according to specific types, such as acute myeloid leukemia, which is treated with chemotherapy with drugs such as cytarabine.
There may be other reasons for the high percentage of white blood cells and neutrophils, such as acute hemorrhage and severe trauma. It is recommended to improve the examination, clear the cause of the disease under the guidance of the physician targeted treatment.
