Stomach pain, as the name suggests, is the pain caused by stomach problems. Most people consider whether it is stomach pain once they have pain in the upper abdomen, and buy some so-called “stomach medicine” to treat it, especially in the case of all kinds of media flooded with all kinds of drugs for stomach pain, this phenomenon is more common. Some people are more cautious and go to the hospital for gastroscopy, the result of which is that many people have chronic superficial gastritis, so they are more confident and bold to eat stomach medicine. But there are always some people, no matter how much stomach medicine will still repeatedly “stomach pain”, this is why? I think in addition to the factors of lifestyle habits, there is another reason that cannot be ignored: whether it is misdiagnosed, whether it is really suffering from gastric disease? In fact, epigastric pain is not necessarily stomach pain, just because the incidence of stomach disease seems to be higher, so many people take epigastric pain as stomach pain. Some people may ask, isn’t gastroscopy confirming superficial gastritis, isn’t it still stomach pain? In fact, in our opinion, chronic superficial gastritis is basically not a problem, and normal people who go for gastroscopy will also be this result. So don’t ignore other problems just because the gastroscopy found chronic gastritis or superficial gastritis. There are many organs in the upper abdomen besides the stomach, such as the liver, gallbladder, duodenum, and pancreas, and the location of pain caused by visceral diseases is not very accurate. In addition to gastric disorders, the most frequent diseases of the upper abdomen are gallbladder stones and cholecystitis. Although typical cholecystitis pain is in the right upper abdomen, many patients with chronic cholecystitis often present with pain that is very similar to stomach pain. And when the stomach disease is treated, although it cannot be cured, it can relieve the symptoms a little, so the condition is constantly delayed. I often meet such patients, often stomach pain, only after the gallbladder stones, cholecystitis cure, not “stomach pain”. I’m not afraid to laugh, these things have happened to my relatives, and even our colleagues in hepatobiliary surgery have treated their own cholecystitis as a stomach disease, and only when they found that the treatment was not effective did they consider whether they had gallbladder stones. Here I would like to explain the relationship between cholecystitis and gallbladder stones: in most cases the two exist together, i.e. gallbladder stones are mostly combined with gallbladder inflammation of varying degrees, while gallbladder inflammation is mostly caused by gallbladder stones, and of course there are some cases of gallbladder inflammation without gallbladder stones. I will dedicate an article to this disease in the future. Once it is determined that the abdominal pain is caused by gallbladder stones or cholecystitis, it should be treated with surgery as soon as possible. Abdominal pain caused by diseases of other organs in the abdomen are more likely to be ignored, such as pancreatic diseases. The pancreas is deeper in the abdomen and lesions that occur there are not easily detected. When “stomach pain” is not cured for a long time, it is important to consider whether there is a disease that has been detected, and once it is diagnosed, it is necessary to go to the appropriate department of the hospital.
